Jasmine Creamery develops gelato flavors that highlight the best of Asian fruits and desserts.
The owner and founder, T.C. Slamet, knew she wanted to work with food at an early age and attended culinary school straight out of high school.
Throughout her years of working in the food industry, T.C. has specialized in food Research & Development. As an R&D chef, she created formulas and workflow systems for large productions to increase efficiency while keeping product integrity.
When T.C. had the desire to start a business, she went back to school for Business Administration. It was in her last semester that the concept Jasmine Creamery was born.
The jasmine flower is the inspiration for the name ‘Jasmine’, which can be widely found in many Southeast Asian countries and is known for its sweet floral fragrance.
T.C. started testing durian gelato as the very first flavor because it was a nostalgic flavor from her childhood in Indonesia that is hard to come by and began selling to friends and family through Facebook.
As a broke college graduate, T.C. made small investments to grow Jasmine Creamery from selling to friends and family, vending as a gelato cart on the side of Main St. at the border of San Gabriel and Alhambra, to starting a ghost kitchen in Irvine, before finally returning back to San Gabriel to become a pop up vendor at Blossom Market Hall.
