Lynn Chan spent most of her life in the fashion industry working with multiple brand names including Forever 21, Bobby Jack, Roxy/Quiksilver and Lane Bryant to name a few.
Despite working in the industry for so long and having just turned 50 years old, she longed for some excitement and that “American Dream.” With encouragement from her family and friends, Lynn jumped at an opportunity.
Lynn was a refugee from Vietnam during the Vietnam War. She tells of her and her 8 siblings escaping on a boat to multiple countries before finally settling in the SGV, specifically in Monterey Park.
Vietnamese coffee is AK Fresh Roast’s specialty because she spent her childhood in Vietnam and wants everyone to know how simple but strong, enjoyable and different Vietnamese coffee can be.
She envisions that her beverages will bring people from all backgrounds together telling their stories of hardship and love while having a sip of her specialty drinks.
Lynn’s story and sudden move to take on coffee reveals that it is never too late to change life up a bit.
